Vineeth Hemavathi rejoined MFHC as the Executive Director in 2026 after serving as a Staff Attorney at the Housing Justice for Survivors Project at the Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School. Vineeth was previously a Staff Attorney at the Massachusetts Fair Housing Center, where he represented victims of housing discrimination in Western and Central Massachusetts. He helped families move into lead-safe homes, veterans obtain the ramps and modifications that they needed, and voucher holders secure housing in the face of discrimination. Prior to that, Vineeth was a Staff Attorney at Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, where he represented victims of domestic violence in divorce, custody, and restraining order cases. Before beginning his legal career, Vineeth was a field organizer on a presidential campaign, a Teach For America corps member teaching at a low-income middle school in Charlotte, NC, and a national security analyst.

Vineeth is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and Illinois. He received his juris doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law. While in law school, Vineeth served as the Managing Editor of the North Carolina Journal of International Law and earned the Seymour Wurfel Award for his outstanding service to the journal. He also was a student practitioner in the Public Interest Law Clinic. Vineeth has a B.A. in Political Science and English from the University of Kansas, where he graduated with honors.

Vineeth has served on the Longmeadow Select Board since 2023, when he became the first person of color to win a municipal election in the town. In 2024, he was named by MassLive as one of the Top AAPI Leaders in the Commonwealth.
